San Diego Alliance for Arts Education 

In May we launched the first-ever San Diego Alliance for Arts Education with support from the California Alliance for Arts Education (www.artsed411.org). We are also working in partnership with The San Diego Foundation.

We're excited about the future of this grassroots coalition of arts education supporters who believe that all students have a right to have equal access to a quality education that includes the arts in the San Diego Unified School District and beyond.

Our first year goals include:

1) A year of learning - research about art, education and creativity to inform our understanding about what is and what is possible for arts education reform;

2) Relationship Building - opportunities to get to know our education decisionmakers in the public sector; and

3) Advocacy in Action - becoming informed about issues, ballot measures and school board candidates who will make a difference in the decisionmaking realm and taking action when appropriate.
